THE BILL INCLUDES A MEASURE FROM SENATOR JOHN HICKENLOOPER THAT WOULD FUND A 20-MILLION DOLLAR TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH PROGRAM IN BOULDER.

-- The U.S. Innovation and Competition Act passed with bipartisan support thanks to the promise of bolstering America's competitive edge byย investingย billions of dollars in scientificย and technological innovations โ including artificial intelligence, computer chipsย and robotics.

--Hickenlooper is the chair of the Commerce Committeeโs Subcommittee on Space and Science.
-- Hickenlooper's portion of the bill provides funding fora $20 million research program at the Institute of Telecommunication Sciences in Boulder. It focuses on "Open Radio Access Network" which is connected to 5G tech.
